Allweather Wood offers D-Blaze® Fire Retardant Treated Wood (FRTW). D-Blaze is suited for fire rated wall assemblies and interior applications where fire retardant construction materials are specified or required by building codes. Highly effective in controlling the spread of flame and the smoke development caused by fire, D-Blaze FRTW shows no evidence of significant progressive combustion after 30 minutes exposure to flame, thereby increasing the time for people to evacuate and reach safety. Other product benefits include:
Allweather Wood manufacturers D-Blaze FRTW at its Ukiah, California and Loveland, Colorado wood preserving facilities. Allweather Wood pressure-impregnates D-Blaze into lumber and plywood in the treatment process – it is not a spray on. As such, the treatment does not flake or chip off over time. Unlike ground contact, fire retardant treated wood is not incised prior to treatment. During the treatment process a red dye is added to identify the D-Blaze product from non-treated wood.
