Metal Windows Information

A metal window refers to a solid metal-framed window, such as those often used in factories.

Solid hot rolled steel was the predominant metal window material from the 1890`s into the post World War II era, while custom metal windows made of iron, bronze, cast iron, copper or steel had also been in use in the U.S. since the early 1900`s until the 1960`s, when aluminum became the material of choice.

Although window frame materials today are typically made of wood, vinyl and aluminum, window framing products made of metal are experiencing renewed interest, particularly in building renovation projects, upscale urban residences and high-end estate properties.

The bronze, hot rolled, cold rolled and stainless steel metal fenestrations of today offer a variety of modern features and options, as well as strength, durability and anti-corrosion properties.
