You may have noticed that reports of zombies are on the rise these days. Apparently, their numbers are increasing at an alarming rate, even in small towns and rural areas. Therefore, it would be wise to assume that at least some of your potential clients might also be zombies.
As Britopian author Michael Brito writes in Strategies for Converting Visitors into Customers, “If you are selling products or services directly from your website, it is imperative to formulate a strategy built around persuading visitors to become customers.”
However, with the threat of a zombie plague looming, it is important to remember that you may not want all website visitors to become customers. Since it is commonly accepted that zombies are best avoided, you must take precautions – prevention is key in a zombie-infested environment.
The first rule of marketing is to know your audience. Therefore, a brief refresher about zombie identification and behavior may be in order. The information below is a guideline only – zombies are individuals and not all will exhibit these specific traits.
- Zombies care little for their appearance
- Their tattered clothing, outstretched arms, sickly pallor and blood-splattered lips usually make them easy to spot
- Zombies often cluster in packs
- When communicating, zombies can be difficult to understand because their vocalizations are interpreted as moans
- Most do not move quickly, but zombies can be tenacious in their zeal to feast on the brains of the living
Zombies are usually distracting and off-putting, which can make their presence a nuisance to others. Therefore, if you wish to avoid calling unwanted attention to your business from the undead, a few tips are offered below:
Of course, if you must market to real, living architects, engineers, specifiers and other humans in the construction industry, disregard the advice given above.
