Project Description:

Sitework Preparatory sitework for the new Ashland PreK- 12 School that will be a two-story steel frame building of approximately 63,000 sf first floor and 29,000 sf second floor. The building and finish sitework will be bid separately as Phase II in Fall 2008. Phase I site Prep includes rough grading approximately half the site to 6 below final Phase II finish grade. The other half of the site will remain in use as a Middle and High School during Phase I and Phase II construction of the new school. Phase I Site Prep also includes removal of approximately 9,000 cubic yards of existing fill under the footprint of the proposed new building, and replacement of the existing fill with new compacted structural fill. The compaction testing firm engaged by the Phase I contractor to conduct compaction tests may also be engaged by the Owner to determine onsite the extent of existing fill to be removed. The Phase I contractor shall carry removal and replacement of 9000 cubic yards of existing fill in their base bid.
