Acousti-Mat Sound Control Systems

Product Overview

Acousti-Mat Sound Control Systems are a cost-effective way to substantially reduce flooring impact noise by as much as 30 rating points over concrete and by as much as 22 rating points over wood frame construction. Acousti-Mat’s core of fused entangle filaments, attached to a nonwoven fabric, creates a void area between the subfloor and a high-strength Maxxon® Underlayment. Maxxon now offers high performance sound control solutions with the Acousti-Mat® HP Series of sound control mats. Acousti-Mat® II HP, Enkasonic® HP and Acousti-Mat® 3 HP provide upgraded sound control through the addition of an acoustical fabric laminated to the bottom of the mat’s entangled mesh core. The high performance acoustical fabric adds an absorptive cushion on which the mesh “spring” rests, providing impact noise control without adding to the overall floor height.

ACOUSTI-MAT® I
Acousti-Mat I is an economical, low profile, high quality sound mat that requires only a 3/4" (19 mm) Maxxon Underlayment pour depth. Listed in over 100 UL fire designs and increasing IIC levels by 8 to 10 points over wood frame and 20 points over concrete, Acousti-Mat I can help meet IBC fire and sound rating requirements. It is GREENGUARD Gold Certified and may contribute toward points for LEED® project certification.

ACOUSTI-MAT® II
With a low 1/4" (6.4 mm) profile, Acousti-Mat II accepts a thinner floating floor composite and is ideal in both new and retrofit flooring applications where floor height is a concern. Acousti-Mat II increases IIC and STC levels up to 10 rating points over wood frame and IIC levels up to 20 rating points over concrete. Acousti-Mat II is GREENGUARD Gold Certified and may contribute toward points for LEED® project certification.

ACOUSTI-MAT® II HP
A breakthrough in sound control, Acousti-Mat II HP takes the proven sound reduction of Acousti-Mat's floating floor technology and adds an additional layer of noise control. With a nominal 5/16" height, the mat requires only a 1" topping. Considered a "green" building material, the core of Acousti-Mat II HP is composed of 40% pre-consumer recycled content. It is GREENGUARD Gold Certified and may contribute toward points for LEED® project certification.

ACOUSTI-MAT® II
Manufactured of nylon and 10% post-industrial recycled content, Enkasonic® sound mats create sound-rated floors with the high impact insulation class (IIC) and sound transmission class (STC) levels required by the International Code Council (ICC), International Building Code (IBC), and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for luxury developments. Test results indicate that after 10 years of use, Enkasonic retains 97% of its original thickness, is as pliable as a new roll, and performs equally to a newly manufactured roll. Enkasonic increases IIC and STC levels up to 12 rating points over wood frame and IIC levels up to 20 rating points over concrete. Enkasonic is GREENGUARD Gold Certified and may contribute toward points for LEED® project certification.

ENKASONIC® HP;
The original sound control mat just got better. Enkasonic® HP provides added impact noise control with an added layer of high performance acoustical fabric. Enkasonic HP increases the IIC levels of the floor/ceiling assembly by up to 19 points over wood frame construction and up to 25 points over concrete construction. Considered a "green" building material, Enkasonic HP is composed of 40% pre-consumer recycled content. It is GREENGUARD Gold Certified and may contribute toward points for LEED® project certification.

ACOUSTI-MAT® 3
Specified for maximum sound control, Acousti-Mat® 3 provides three times more airspace than Acousti-Mat II and delivers an additional 7 - 10 sound control rating points. For open beam, concrete slab and conventional wood frame construction, Acousti-Mat 3 increases IIC and STC levels to 17 rating points over wood frame and IIC levels to 25 rating points or more over concrete. Acousti-Mat 3 is GREENGUARD Gold Certified and may contribute toward points for LEED® project certification.

ACOUSTI-MAT® 3 HP
Acousti-Mat® 3 HP - For challenging floors, like those found in warehouse-to-multifamily conversion projects, only the best will do. Acousti-Mat® 3 HP delivers top quality noise reduction by combining the proven sound reduction of Acousti-Mat's floating floor technology with an added layer of isolation. Acousti-Mat® 3 HP is made with 40% recycled content. It is GREENGUARD Gold Certified and may contribute toward points for LEED® project certification.

ACOUSTI-MAT® LP
Acousti-Mat® LP (Low Profile) is a sound control mat used over concrete slabs and topped with a Maxxon Underlayment to improve IIC ratings. Acousti-Mat LP provides a tough, durable mat with water repellent features and excellent reductions in sound transmission and sound reflection. Acousti-mat LP is GREENGUARD Gold Certified and may contribute towards point for LEED® project certification.

ACOUSTI-MAT® LPR
Acousti-Mat® LPR is an entangled mesh attached to a unique blend of polymeric fibers. Acousti-Mat LPR can be attached to a concrete or loose laid over wood subfloor and then topped with a gypsum or self-leveling underlayment. In this application, the LPR system can meet the 50 IIC sound control rating required by the IBC. Acousti-mat LRP is GREENGUARD Gold Certified and may contribute towards point for LEED® project certification.

Acousti-Mat® SD
Acousti-Mat SD saves time and money with its unique pattern, designed to fit the flutes of 9/16", 2-1/2" o.c., 22 gauge corrugated steel decking. Traditionally, sound control in corrugated steel deck construction required an underlayment to be poured directly onto the steel deck to level the surface before a sound mat could be installed. With Acousti-Mat SD, just one underlayment pour is required to achieve superior sound control, a flat resistance and a smooth subflooring ready to receive finished floor grouts. Acousti-Mat SD is GREENGUARD Gold Certified and may contribute toward points for LEED® project certification.

Features, Advantages

  • Documented sound tests over a variety of assemblies
  • More than 100 UL fire-rated designs
  • Lightweight and easy to install
  • Low deflection rate with high load levels
  • Durable — Chemical and moisture resistant

Installation
Ideal for fast-track projects, Acousti-Mat installs quickly. After laying Acousti-Mat over the subfloor, Maxxon floor specialists pour a high-strength Maxxon Underlayment on top, completing the system.
