Reed Construction Data Canada Announces National Construction Leaders

National publication ‘The Leaders’ names top construction companies in Canada

Reed Construction Data Canada has released The Leaders, the company’s annual publication ranking the top Canadian general contractors.

The Leaders includes top 100 lists for Eastern and Western Canada, and for the first time, a national list of the top 50 companies.  In each list, companies are ranked based on the total value of projects under construction from October 1, 2006 – September 30, 2007, as reported by Reed Construction Data.

At the top of the list, the national leader is Mississauga-based EllisDon Corporation, an international construction services firm, with reported projects under construction valued at $8.5 billion.

 

Rounding out the top five companies on the national list are Kellogg, Brown & Root, $4.3 billion; PCL Constructors, Inc., $4.2 billion; Soc d’énergie de la Baie James, $4 billion; Ledcor Group of Companies $1.4 billion.

“This year, we decided to take The Leaders rankings to a national audience because we felt there was a need for this kind of recognition in Canada,” said Mark Casaletto, vice president and general manager of Reed Construction Data Canada.

    Daily Commercial News and Journal of Commerce offer new service to access construction project information Reed Construction Data Canada has announced the launch of Building Reports Online, a subscription service for the construction industry providing an online interface to access project information at any stage throughout the construction cycle. This new service is available through Reed’s Daily Commercial News, a daily source for Canadian construction news, project leads, events and resources serving Ontario, and the Journal of Commerce, a similar source serving Alberta and British Columbia. The challenge will give sixty teams from the United States and Canada a chance to advance to the Finals Tournament in Las Vegas on March 10-14, 2008 and will feature a display for the winning team’s solutions at CONEXPO-CON/AGG, a tradeshow showcasing new construction equipment and technology.
