February 16, 2010

On Feb. 25, 2010, at 2p.m. (EST), Reed Construction Data will present “Lessons in BIM Adoption:  How Integrated Project Delivery Can Work”; a free webcast exploring the benefits and challenges of a collaborative approach to design and construction.

Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) has been gaining momentum as a collaborative method for owners, architects, general contractors and other key stakeholders to reduce waste, maximize efficiency, lower costs and increase project value.

The webcast will bring together industry thought leaders Robert M. Leicht, Ph.D., BIM Manager for DPR Construction; Scott Simpson, FAIA, LEED AP, Senior Director of Kling-Stubbins and Markku Allison, Resource Architect, American Institute of Architects, to discuss:

  • The current challenges to reaching an IPD methodology and how all members of a project are affected
  • IPD communication requirements, technology challenges and infrastructure requirements
  • How costs can be reduced using IPD
  • An overall explanation of BIM and the importance of BIM adoption

The webcast will be broadcast live starting at 2 p.m. (EST).  Registration is complimentary for all participants; pre-registration is required. Questions from the Internet audience will be accepted during the live webcast, which will also be archived for later viewing.  Webcast attendees are eligible to receive 1.0 AIA CEU credit for attending this webcast.

“2010 Lessons in BIM Adoption” is a quarterly webcast series analyzing how BIM affects processes for the architect, engineer, general contractor and other members of the construction industry.
